There's a bug with the food where the game thinks that the food in different cages is the same object so when one hamster eats it eats all other food too. I think this is a result of the stacking of food, and the solution I can see is either saving the game after putting food in a cage or letting one hamster eat before putting food in the other cages. If you can replicate the bug and tell me what was happening when you did then that would be a great help.
